It was a day of extreme weather - at one moment hot and sunny; the next heavy showers of rain. The festivities rolled on regardless; the ever optimistic public address commentating on races and activities that took place when possible.
Again we found the public to be on the whole interested and supportive. A couple of older folk suggested "we shold not go back in" because we did not want Europeans making our rules.
We had been told that there would be a Reform gazebo, as last year. We were told a booking had been made. But nobody arrived.
But we did have Luke Charters, Labour MP for Your Outer, come over and support us. (And pose with us for the photograph.)
Rachael Maskell, Labour MP for York Central also called in for chat.
