Conducting award for York musician!...

Prestige for York-based choir Prima Vocal Ensemble

Ewa Salecka, whose York-based choir Prima Vocal Ensemble recently celebrated its 11th anniversary, has just been awarded a 1st class Degree in Music and Education, specialising in Conducting, from the prestigious Szczecin Academy of Arts in Poland.
Normally candidates have to produce and conduct a live concert, but due to the pandemic Ewa was asked to submit a recording of her most recent choral/orchestral performance. She chose Prima Vocal Ensemble performing Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ with the Mowbray Orchestra in Tadcaster’s Riley-Smith Hall.
One choir member commented,
“Ewa is a brilliant conductor who always brings out the best in everyone. We’re thrilled to have played a part in her award”.

Busy as ever, Ewa can’t wait to get back to performing and taking part in music festivals at home and abroad. A perfect example of the way music draws people together across national boundaries.
