Strategic Objective (SO) 1

Promote the benefits of closer partnership between the UK, Europe, and their citizens.

Sub-Objectives (Sub-Os)

  • 1. Educate the public on the role and work of European institutions.
    Focus Areas: European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Erasmus, climate agreements, Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA).
    Possible Activities: Host public talks, produce explainer materials, run school/university outreach.
  • 2. Highlight tangible benefits of partnership (e.g. peace, security, mobility). Possible Activities: Create campaigns, share case studies, invite speakers with lived experience.
  • 3. Raise awareness of York-specific issues connected to the EU.
    Focus Areas: Business impact, climate change, tourism & travel, water quality.
    Possible Activities: Collect feedback from York residents, run issue-focused campaigns, publish reports.
  • 4. Maintain and strengthen ties with regional and national like-minded organisations.
    Possible Activities: Attend networking events, share resources, co-host campaigns.
